Ongoing facility consultation is available with Tibetan Singing Bowls Therapy. Group and individual treatment programming may include facilities such as medical setting inpatient or outpatient, senior centers, memory care facilities and schools. Programming can include wellness or therapeutic interventions. Staff support and or training and certification in Tibetan Singing Bowls Therapy is available to interested medical professionals to augment existing practice.
Programming is usually implemented in several consecutive group or individual sessions, one or more times per week for up to 1 hour in duration.Interventions improve and enrich bio-psycho, social, functional independence, and quality of life.Medical provider orders can be written with frequency, scope and duration of treatment specified.Equipment is provided by consultant to include several large metal bowls and strikers from Nepal, and other music and sound equipment as per music therapists program content.
Benefits can include reducing stress and anxiety, improving concentration, increasing vitality, improving immunity, improving sleep, heightening attention and focus, reducing mental and emotional distress, and reducing pain.
Jane Shallberg, M.Ed., MT-BC is a masters level therapist, long time faculty member at Arizona State University, and teacher-certified Himalayan Chakra Singing Bowls practitioner through Atma Buti Sound and Vibrational School in Boulder, Colorado. Sound Therapy Programming taught through Arizona Sound and Music Therapy Institute is also certified through Atma Buti Sound and Vibrational School for a small additional fee.
- Introduction to Tibetan Singing Bowls:
Hands-on workshop where participants learn about the bowls tradition and how to play both bowls and tingshas. Various techniques in which this modality can be used for personal health and wellness are discussed and demonstrated. This is a helpful beginning class for interested individuals who may want to pursue Levels I, II and III Certification Trainings.
- Level I Certification:
Fundamentals and One and Two Bowls Therapy. Learn the basics of playing Tibetan Singing Bowls and Tingshas, the history and making of the bowls, and the specific healing traditions of this modality. Experience the unique vibration on and around your body and practice basic activation with strikers and rubbing mallets. Incorporate specific placement patterns and protocols for stress reduction, overall body balancing, and treatment both in sitting and lying down positions using one or two bowls. Practice general techniques with other participants.
- Level II Certification:
Intermediate. Himalayan Chakra Singing Bowl, Using 7 Bowl Therapy Techniques. Learn the specific use of multi bowl placement and the importance of sound intervals. Study and practice the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd protocols of treatment with other participants. Techniques using 7 Chakra bowls, warm water therapy practices, balancing the chakras, and healing prayer techniques will be taught. This course will discuss the importance of intention, discussion on puja, setting up the healing environment, and how to conduct a session with a client.
Prerequisite: Level I completion.
- Level III Certification:
Advanced. Himalayan Chakra Singing Bowl, Using 7 Bowl Therapy Techniques. Learn protocols for specific health issues. The workshop will cover advanced protocols VI and VII techniques, using advanced warm water therapies, and postures for special needs. clients, including treatments to ease depression, anger, and stress. This will be a lecture and hands on course and bowls will be provided, for practice.
Prerequisite: Level II completion.
